Good place! Some people love them others hate them, but they have a cult following. My great grandparents have been coming here since this was known as the “ten cent hamburger stand” and still see it as a treat to come!

Love this place, alot of history and tradition. Food is cooked to order. Cheap prices still only .90 cents for a single burger. It is cash only however but has an atm there.

I love Polar Whip. Always have, always will. It's a little restaurant, nothing fancy but the double burgers are so delish. They have a variety of menu items. From fried green beans to tamales. Like my dear ole dad used to say ," Dont know how they make it so good and sell it so cheap ". Definitely worth stopping in and trying for yourself. You might be surprised how good it is.

Here's an order... Great historic local burger place. Double cheese loaded... Onion rings... Cherry Coke... And the Icecream... Is great. One of my favorite places to go for comfort food. 4 generations of service. Can't say enough great things about polar whip.

Always good! Been going there since first time in 1967 at the age of ten. Now I am 62yrs old. And I plan to go tomorrow. My daughter and grandchildren come to visit from Atlanta area and the first thing they want to do is Polar Whip.

They screwed up my whole order and I had to wait 15 minutes for they to redo it and they wasnt even busy

This place has been a staple in Southern Illinois for many years. The food 8s always good and the atmosphere is one that many who live here gave grown up with. It was fun to go there as a teenager and then to take your own children too and see them introduce it to their children. A great place . Hope it remains for many more years to come!

Best burgers and fries for an even better price! Ben coming here for decades as my loving most dearly missed Uncle Maynard (love you big guy) brought me here for the first time and said, "you can order two burgers a side of fries, a drink, and give them five dollars and you'll get change back." And sure enough he did and we are very well and left so satisfied. Love love love this place!!!!!!!

A little bit of old time history that offers great food at little expense. A loaded double cheeseburger with a side of crinkled french fries and a soda for less than $4! Always delicious, always fresh, and always exceptional service. I like to get lunch here at least once a week! Keep up the great work!

I've been eating here since birth and love coming back to see the same booths, candy machines and the famous hen laying egg machine... Seeing the family over the counter and placing orders the same traditional way is a plus! Tasty food at a great price!

Classic hometown experience for a cheap and decent burger. Better than fast food and cheaper. Be sure to try the mushrooms and fried pickles. Only takes cash so come prepared.

Good cheap food, though I'm not sure the burger contains any beef. You don't see many small restaurants like this any more. Very small and cramped building however. Beware of police if not from the area, energy is famous for being a ticket town.

Food gets 5stars but overall I give them a 2 because they are never open at dinner time so basically if you work nights & sleep in the day your screwed
